TAX CALCULATION & EXEMPTIONS


TAX CALCULATION: Sale Tax, where applicable, will be calculated and added at the end of the auction.

TAX EXEMPTION: Where taxes are applicable (see the Buyer's Certificate), Tax Exempt documents must be provided to GovDeals Bidder Services at taxhelp@liquidityservices.com within 24 hours of the auctions close and before payment is made. Bidders are encouraged to submit their Tax Exempt Documentation prior to the Auction's close to expedite this process. Please contact GovDeals Bidder Services for all tax exemption questions.

RemovalRemoval
If the auctioned item is a vehicle or a piece of equipment with a title, the title will be completed and signed in compliance with North Carolina law. No titles will be assigned in blank. Titles will be made out in the name that is listed as the Buyer on the Buyer's Certificate. TITLE TRANSFER ARRANGEMENTS BETWEEN THE BUYER AND SELLER MUST BE FINALIZED PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL OF VEHICLES/EQUIPMENT FROM CITY PREMISES. BEFORE THESE ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE FINALIZED, BUYERS MUST CONFIRM WITH THE CITY OF ASHEBORO ASSET CONTACT REPRESENTATIVE WHETHER THE BUYER WILL HAVE TO APPEAR BEFORE A NOTARY PUBLIC TO COMPLETE THE TITLE TRANSFER PROCESS. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
Once the actions required of the Buyer are completed, the Buyer will be given only the Bill of Sale on the day that the auctioned property is removed from the City's premises. The said Bill of Sale will include the following statement, which must be signed by the Buyer or the Buyer's agent in order to signify the Buyer's agreement with this condition of the sale: "The purchase price for this vehicle/equipment has been paid in full, and the City's chief executive officer will execute and mail an assignment of title to the Buyer within three (3) business days of the date printed below. The notarized assignment of title will be mailed by the City through the United States Postal Service via certified, return receipt requested, mail to the Buyer at the following address."

Please note that the properly executed title will be needed if a buyer intends to obtain tags of any kind. The City does not offer any assurance of when a title will be fully executed beyond the time frame stated above.

The City will not provide temporary tags of any kind for the removal of auctioned vehicles/equipment. Arrangements for towing a vehicle or otherwise lawfully removing auctioned items from the City's premises are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the Buyer. Before any property may be removed from City premises, a valid Buyer's Certificate must be presented as proof of purchase. If an agent of the Buyer is to pick up an auctioned item, the identity and authority of such an individual must be established in advance to the satisfaction of the above-referenced point of contact with the City.

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 48 hours in advance. All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer's Certificate.

The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.

Please review the conditions/requirements listed above in the Removal section. These conditions must be satisfied completely to the satisfaction of the City before any property will be released from the City's possession. The City of Asheboro reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to withdraw any item listed for sale by the City of Asheboro at any time.

NOTICE: If you are the winning bidder and default by failing to adhere to this sellers conditions your account with Liquidity Services WILL BE LOCKED.

Guaranty Waiver. All property is offered for sale 'AS IS,WHERE IS.' Asheboro, NC makes no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. Please note that upon removal of the property, all sales are final.

Description Warranty. Seller warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for misdescription must be made prior to removal of the property. If seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid. The liability of the seller shall not exceed the actual purchase price of the property.
