Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: At 43000 km why would a frame replacement and complete suspension replacement be necessary? (11/24/21 8:46 PM)
A: This truck has a foam system and it had a minor leak that went unnoticed for a while. This in turn caused severe rust jacking on the frame that went unreported on annual safety over a number of years. When our mechanical vendor changed, the issue was found and the truck was taken out of service. A frame replacement was the most economical solution. After that, under oiling of this truck became a priority and under oiling vendor coated everything including the suspension. The suspension failed as it is not recommended to put the under oil on the suspension components. This also brought to our attention that the truck was overloaded so some equipment was removed. This truck is being replaced early as we needed it to do more than it was designed for. (11/25/21 10:23 AM)
Q: Is pump pto driven or does it have a separate engine. Any ideas why it failed its last pump test. (11/24/21 10:28 PM)
A: The pump is PTO driven. This truck also has a pump and roll option. As for the failed pump test, we believe that there is a water leak into the CAFS through a pressure relief valve (not confirmed). (11/25/21 10:28 AM)
Q: Why was the full frame replaced in 2018? (11/25/21 5:36 AM)
(11/25/21 10:29 AM)
Q: Are any of the discharges remote nozzles? Tele-Squirt type? Thanks, nice truck! (11/25/21 6:44 AM)
A: There was a small front bumper mounted monitor on this truck originally. It was not used much which caused issues with the motors on the monitor seizing up so the monitor was removed from the truck. The remote control is still mounted in the cab. (11/25/21 10:32 AM)
Q: Could you please clarify what "complete suspension replacement" consisted of? In relation to the frame replacement who conducted the work? (11/25/21 9:59 PM)
A: Brand new front and rear leaf springs and shackles. Frame replacement was completed by Chiefs Heavy Truck Collision in Kitchener, ON. (11/26/21 10:06 AM)
Q: Do you have any better pictures of the pump panel and of the pump certification plate? (11/25/21 10:47 PM)
A: I will take some more pictures and add them to this auction (11/26/21 10:12 AM)
Q: can you send pics of frame now and under carrage (11/26/21 5:32 AM)
A: I will take some more pictures and add them to this auction. (11/26/21 10:12 AM)
Q: is this durmax with alison tranny (11/29/21 9:39 AM)
A: This truck is equipped with the 6.6L Duramax engine and the Allison transmission. (11/29/21 12:04 PM)
Q: Seeing as the foam leak created the frame issue was there or is there any issues with chassis/cab wiring? (11/29/21 9:39 PM)
A: There are no wiring issues associated with this that we know of. (11/30/21 11:38 AM)
Q: when can i come look at ? where can i look at ? (11/30/21 11:19 PM)
A: If you would like to view this truck, please make arrangements with Deputy Fire Chief Shawn Schutten. 905.899.3463 x279 (12/1/21 8:40 AM)
Q: Was this truck not already sold through auction a short time ago? If so why was the deal cancelled? (12/1/21 6:30 AM)
A: This truck was purchased brand new in 2005 and has been owned by the township ever since. It has never been to auction prior to this one. (12/1/21 8:41 AM)
Q: Are you willing to Include the Old Monitor ? Are this truck Roadworthy ? any driver of your staff interested in drive this rig to US. ? (12/1/21 6:55 AM)
A: Not sure if the old monitor is still available. However, it will be looked for and if it is found the winner bidder is welcome to have it. This truck is roadworthy and has been driven recently. The winner bidder will be responsible for picking up the asset from Wainfleet, ON (12/1/21 8:56 AM)
