2002 Freightliner FLD120 CONVENTIONAL CAB, 14.0L L6 CUMMINS DIESEL.

Obtained through US Military surplus program and used to transport wheel loader and D7 dozer to outdoor firearms training range

Vehicle starts with a jump, runs, and drives but will likely need new batteries

Vehicle has air conditioning but that will need recharged as it does not currently blow cold

Electronic 6 speed automatic transmission

Driver and passenger air ride seats

Vehicle comes with three (3) hoods. The fiberglass on the original hood was damaged when a wind gust caught it while it was being opened and was removed. We never got around to installing one of the replacement hoods as we have a second M915 tractor that we could use. The headlights, turn signals and grill are intact and can be removed and installed in one of the new hoods

Vehicle inspection is available by appointment

Seller added the following information on 6/30/2022 3:29 PM:
I started the truck on June 30th and let it run to try to charge up the batteries, check air pressure for brakes, and to identify any other issues prior to auction close. While idling, the fan belt broke. We bought new fan belts that will be included in the sale but I will not have any time to install them. The truck can idle long enough to load it onto a trailer if need be. The batteries don't seem to be holding a charge so they will need replaced.
Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: Is it a 12 volt system or 24 volt system. (6/18/22 11:13 PM)
A: Our city mechanics looked at the battery hook up and confirmed that they are set up for both 12v AND 24 volt. Our other M915 truck is 12 volt. (6/19/22 8:51 AM)
Q: Will you provide a State of Ohio vehicle title for this truck? (6/21/22 6:03 AM)
A: Yes (6/21/22 12:21 PM)
Q: Sounds like it’s been relatively used recently? Do you have any info on weight rating? Any known problems other than batteries? (6/27/22 11:54 AM)
A: Data tag on door as shown in photos indicates GVWR of 52,000 lbs. No other known problems other that needing batteries. Will try to get truck started in coming days to identify any additional problems and will modify this answer if needed. June 30th update: I started the truck today and let it run to try to charge up batteries, check air pressure for brakes and to identify any other issues prior to auction close. While idling, the fan belt broke. We bought new fan belts that will be included in the sale but I will not have any time to install them. The truck can idle long enough to load it onto a trailer if need be. The batteries don't seem to be holding a charge so they will need replaced. Air pressure builds to 100-120 psi and holds. Wheels roll freely, no seized brakes or anything. Drove the truck in forward and reverse with no issue. (6/27/22 5:53 PM)
Q: Any updates on any other known problems? Also when was it actually last used roughly? (6/28/22 11:05 PM)
A: Was used in 2021. I started the truck today and let it run to try to charge up batteries and check air pressure for brakes to identify any other issues prior to auction close. Q: Does it have a wet kit? (6/28/22 11:20 PM)
A: No wet kit (6/29/22 9:35 AM)
Q: Not to sound coy but can you guys at least get batteries in the truck that are good. It's one thing to boost it on ground there but it's a dangerous mess trying to boost it on a trailer on side of road to unload climbing on off trailer. (6/29/22 10:23 PM)
A: If you're the winning bidder and you want to bring new batteries and install them when you pick up the truck, that's fine. We are not replacing the batteries (6/30/22 3:25 PM)
Q: Can you please verify if AC system exists? I see no air conditioner compressor on engine. Thank you. (6/29/22 10:31 PM)
A: Air Conditioning system exists. I verified with our city mechanic. The A/C was used when the truck was driven out of state to pick up a mini-excavator so I know for a fact it exists. (6/30/22 3:26 PM)
Q: Is the reason the belts broke because the alternator or ac pump locked up?? (6/30/22 3:39 PM)
A: No, the belts that run the alternator, water pump, etc. are intact. The belts that broke only run the engine fan. The truck had been idling for a while so I'm assuming the belts broke when the fan clutch engaged. If you want pictures of how the belts are routed, email me the address you want the photos sent to.
