Purchased new in 1990 and has been maintained in good working condition and under continual service contract (Digital Optics LLC, former Amray engineer) since inception. Upgrade to IXRF digital acquisition system in 2008, running modern/current version of IXRF software that supports imaging and EDS. Upgrade including backscatter detector, EDS detector, and LaB6 filament/gun cap in 2017. All features and functions currently operable to the best of our knowledge (June 2022), however system is sold “as is” without guarantee. Imaging system has been disconnected and disassembled in preparation for transport.
Included components and features:
Basic System – Amray 1810 control module, chamber, column, and voltage tether/gun assembly, standard tungsten and LaB6 filament including respective gun caps
Detectors – 1) standard secondary electron Everhart-Thornley, 2) quad backscatter, 3) liquid nitrogen bath (wet) EDS
Vacuum System – Amray diffusion pump, Closed loop chiller device Fisher Isotemp model 500LC to support diffusion pump, Edwards model E2M8 roughing pump, Edwards Oil mist filter model EMF10 oil mist capture system for roughing pump
Image acquisition – IXRF digitization system 550i, hardcopy of IXRF software (Iridium Ultra) and license dongle
Maintenance and extras – original manuals and feature documentation, passive antivibration mitigation foot pads for chamber table including Isolate It Sorbothane foot pads and metal discs, 3 and 4 sample stub holders for chamber, standby/extra apertures for cap and final aperture assembly, routine maintenance tools, metal polish, standby/spare voltage tether and gun assembly, standby/extra Wenheldt cap for tungsten filaments, X9 spare tungsten filaments, various spare parts for chamber translation mechanism, second standby/spare roughing pump Edwards model E2M8, standby/backup EMF10 oil mist capture system with unused repair/rebuild kit, various extra small parts and electronic components included with new purchase for support/maintenance and repair (haven’t been required)
System requirements (not included in sale): standard 120V electric with approximately 30A total load capability, workstation and monitor for IXRF software and image acquisition (WIN 7 or 10), nitrogen air source and connective tubing for chamber venting, compressed air input at approximately 60-70psi to support vacuum valves, active vibration mitigation system (if needed), roughing pump oil and chiller coolant (antifreeze mix)
Buyer responsibilities following sale: 1) Contract professional packing company to properly prepare all items for safe transport, likely including X2 full pallets or crates and some boxing of other small items. Determine weights and dimensions of all packaged items as needed for shipping. 2) Contract professional/specialty shipping company to load, transport, and unload the imaging system 3) Contract professional service technician for reassembly and certification of imaging system. Rough estimate from Digital Optics LLC for reassembly and certification $3-5K.

A: Happy to post more pictures later today. Listing has a description of anything not included that would be necessary - mostly you would need to provide a workstation to install software and some building installation features like a 60psi compressed air input for the table and valves. System is running and acquiring data currently, would include roughing pump, water chiller, and all associated parts. Happy to include monitors if desired. Would not include sample prep equipment gold sputter coater unit or critical point dehydration unit. (8/15/22 11:29 AM)

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. All items must be removed within twenty (20) business days from the time and date of the close of the auction.
The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. Bidders will be locked unless a prior arrangement has been made for any item not removed within the twenty (20) business days allowed and stated on the Buyer's Certificate.
