A: Detroit Diesel Series 60 Allison B-500 (7/26/21 10:55 AM)
Q: Does it have a wheelchair door and lift ? (7/26/21 9:11 PM)
A: Yes, and the lift works. (7/27/21 9:00 AM)
Q: does this bus run and drive? (7/27/21 7:12 PM)
A: Yes, it does. (7/28/21 12:32 PM)
Q: can you post photos of both bus engines? above and below , thank you for your time (7/30/21 12:16 AM)
A: Yes, will post (7/30/21 1:02 PM)
Q: I see that the replacement bus for this was purchased with VW grant funding. Don't those grants require you to bore a 3" hole in the engine block and cut the chassis in half for disposal? (7/30/21 2:41 PM)
A: That program is not applicable to this bus. (9/20/21 10:45 AM)
Q: In one of the pictures it looks like the window is cracked, is it cracked or just the tint peeling? Is this the only window cracked? (9/24/21 11:15 AM)
A: Upon further inspection, the window is cracked. It is the only one that is cracked. (9/24/21 11:41 AM)
Q: Why is this item being reposted? (10/1/21 5:20 PM)
A: Reserve was not met. (10/4/21 10:26 AM)
Q: How long is the bus? Does the AC work? Do you have maintenance records? (10/3/21 12:37 AM)
A: It is a 40' bus with 49 passenger seats. The A/C does work. We have the maintenance records since we acquired it in 2016. We purchased this bus to help us when we were getting the 2006 and 2007 rehabbed. We have now replaced this bus with a new one. (10/4/21 11:38 AM)
Q: What is the weight of the bus? (10/3/21 1:28 AM)
A: I googled it and the weight stated for this bus is 27,250 (10/4/21 11:40 AM)
Q: Sorry I’m asking so many questions, do the windows open? (10/4/21 12:13 AM)
A: Yes,they do (10/4/21 11:36 AM)
Q: What is the reserve? This is the second reposting due to failing to meet reserve. Disclosing the reserve would likely get the bud sold this time. (10/11/21 12:25 PM)
A: I sent a second chance offer to each of the high bidders in the last auctions and neither elected to proceed with the sale. (Second chance allows the highest bidder to purchase at the price they bid). (10/11/21 1:26 PM)
Q: I bought an identical bus from these folks a little over a month ago. It was driven to Virginia Beach (from Bluffton, S.C.) with no problems. I have taken most of the seats out (I'm converting it to an RV) and the wheelchair lift made this very easy. The Palmetto Breeze folks were great to work with and very helpful. I know this isn't a question, but I thought an unsolicited recommendation might assuage some worries others may have. (10/12/21 3:35 PM)
A: Thank you! (10/13/21 10:15 AM)
Q: Was the bus used near the ocean? Is there rust and corrosion on the frame and body? (10/13/21 9:10 AM)
A: We acquired the bus in 2016 from Worcester, MA. It was a commuter bus into Boston and back. The bus was retired from service when we got it and used it while we were re-habbing our fleet. There was a rust issue in the front end assembly that we repaired with a front bogie replacement ($30,000) done at Coach Crafters in FL. There are not any other rust issues that are observable at this time. We are selling as we have replaced this bus with a new one. (10/13/21 10:37 AM)
Q: van you take a pic of the wheelchair doorand lift Pls (10/17/21 11:06 AM)
A: Yes, I am posting them now. (10/18/21 10:42 AM)
