This is a Hydrogen System presented to the auction by the Agribusiness and Agriscience Department at MTSU. Any questions regarding the system need to be addressed to Matt Wade, Director of Farm Laboratories for the university. Matt can be reached at matthew.wade@mtsu.edu, 615 898 2431 or 615 566 1468. This system is located on campus at the Vocational education shop. The description of the item is what was submitted to me by the department. Hydrogen System, currently not working, includes 4 different pieces of equipment for various uses in the system. The items being offered for sale are mechanical. The system does contain hydrogen. The system was used by Dr. Cliff Ricketts during his tenure with the university. Dr. Ricketts specialty was alternative fuel research.. He researched hydrogen powered vehicles extensively. It is highly recommended that a visual inspection of the system be conducted before submitting a bid on this item.An inspection can be scheduled by contacting me at 615 898 2959 or 615 714 1030. If I don't answer please leave a message and I will call you back when my schedule permits. Any potential buyers can contact the aforementioned Mr. Wade to schedule an inspection as well. The system is being sold "as is where is" MTSU does not guarantee functionality or operability of this system. It is the responsibility of the winning bidder to provide all resources necessary to facilitate the removal of this item from MTSU property. If the system is claimed by another MTSU Department or state entity an FMV or Fair Market Assessment of $100.00 will be assesses and collected before the transfer of property can occur.

Q: Hello, can you estimate how long it has been since the hydrogen generator has last been run. How many hours are on the machine (there is a hour meter on the back or rear side, near the top). When it was removed from service was it put into the long term storage configuration per the OEMs instructions for storage? (3/13/20 12:17 AM) A: I have forwarded your questions to Matt Wade, the Farm Lab Director. Once he responds I will provide those answers. Here is the answer I received from Matt Wade.Derek, Here is the answer to the questions: As of January 1, 2020, I was asked to put this system on govdeals. I do not have any information as to the last time the system was used or if it has been stored according to OEM standards. I could not locate any hour meter on the hydrogen generator. Hours Unknown. The tanks are 500 gallon. Thanks, Matthew (3/13/20 9:06 AM) |

Q: This auction was going to end next week and now it is extended for another 30 days why is this and does this happen often? Thanks (5/10/20 8:04 AM) A: The simple answer is Covid 19 and the effect it is having on MTSU operational procedures, resources and personnel availability. The university is under the safer at home order issued by Governor Lee until May 31st. I hope the university is back to normal operating procedures in June.If the order is extending the auction will be extended as well. I apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
