Q: What was this used for ? How long out of service? Thanks (12/6/21 8:24 PM) A: It was used for picking up supplies from Wal-Mart/Sam’s for the PD. Out of use for about 13 months. Whoever buys this vehicle should trailer it because I just found out the box part of the van has some broken mount bolts that hold the box part onto the frame of the vehicle. Q: Do you have pictures of the bolts in question? (1/7/22 12:15 PM) A: No. The straight bolts that have come loose/missing are the two bolts that mount the rear of the box portion of the van to the frame. The box was mounted in the rear to an aluminum cross beam which had the rear bumper mount with it. This is probably why the bolts worked loose. Don’t know what the military towed with it. The mechanic has suggested the aluminum beam be replaced with a steel beam/plate and new straight-thru mount bolts for added strength and better towing capacity. This info I got yesterday afternoon from the maintenance folks. We are happy to discuss any of the van issues if you need us to! Thank you. (1/11/22 10:34 AM) |
