Buyer responsible for disassembly and removal from basement of commercial building

Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: Are there any specialized needs when taking this apart and moving it? Is the electricity going to be disconnected or will a licensed electrician be needed? Will the cooler need evacuated prior to removal (requiring specialized equipment/expertise? Is there access for a vehicle to park near where this is located? Does the parts need to go on stairs, or is there an elevator large enough to bring up the pieces? (12/1/20 5:48 AM)
A: I am certain there are specialized needs. Proper disconnect from electrical systems, reclaiming refrigerant, disassembly and removal are the responsibility of the buyer. There is an 8'x8' overhead garage door on street grade, but no loading dock is available. An elevator is not available for use of large components. Some portions or components may be able to be lifted thru a floor penetration, which may require a fork lift, boom or similar. Removal of this unit is a major consideration and should not be underestimated by interested parties. (12/1/20 10:38 AM)
Q: I see the building is a laboratory, what contents were stored in the cooler? Anything hazardous or that would make this cooler unsafe to store food in? (12/6/20 2:08 AM)
A: I assume the cooler was used for pathology studies and was likely used for blood and/or tissue samples. I do not know that for a fact, nor am I able to determine if anything hazardous was ever stored inside. The unit is being sold as is and was used by the previous building owners. (12/7/20 10:09 AM)
