TAX CALCULATION & EXEMPTIONS



TAX CALCULATION: Sale Tax, where applicable, will be calculated and added at the end of the auction.



TAX EXEMPTION: Where taxes are applicable (see the Buyer’s Certificate), Tax Exempt documents must be provided to Liquidity Services Bidder Services at taxhelp@liquidityservices.com within 24 hours of the auctions close and before payment is made. Bidders are encouraged to submit their Tax Exempt Documentation prior to the Auction’s close to expedite this process. Please contact Liquidity Services Bidder Services for all tax exemption questions.

RemovalRemoval
Removal is by appointment only! Buyers must contact the purchasing division at 319 356-5076 to schedule removal.

All items must be removed within 10 business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate.

Purchases will be released only upon receipt of payment as specified. Successful bidders must present buyers certificate and receipt or bill of sale at time of removal.

Successful bidders are responsible for the removal and loading of any and all property awarded to them from the place where the property is located, as indicated on the website and in the Buyer’s Certificate. The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. Under no circumstances will The City of Iowa City assume responsibility for packing, loading or Shipping.

Property may be removed between the hours of 9:00a.m. And 2:00p.m, Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer’s Certificate.

The buyer will be responsible for e-mailing the City a copy of the two forms of ID if another party is picking up the item. This is in addition to presenting the buyer’s certificate at the time of release of the item.

DESCRIPTION WARRANTY: Seller warrants to the Buyer that the property offered for sale will conform to its description. Any claim for mis-description must be made prior to removal of the property. If Seller confirms that the property does not conform to the description, Seller will keep the property and refund any money paid.
