(2) Koppel Railroad Hopper Ballast Carts

These standard gauge carts were last used for dumping ballast rock on the railroad track for maintenance. Each cart has a manual door on one side of the cart allowing ballast rock to flow onto the track. There is a fine mesh screen on the bottom of each hopper. The carts can be towed by a hirail truck or other on-track equipment and the couplers are not standard railroad size. The carts do not have any sort of braking system.

The hoppers are 5'6" wide, 10' long and the extreme dimensions of the carts are 6' wide, 12'6" long. We don't have exact weights, but best guess is 4,000 lbs each.

SOLD AS IS!! NO WARRANTY!! ADVISED TO VIEW BEFORE BIDDING!! SUBMIT ALL QUESTIONS TO QUESTION PAGE!! Work may be allowed on Railroad property in preparation for removal. Pre-bidding inspections and removal will be by appointment only and must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Once the sale is completed, the buyer assumes all responsibility for the equipment. Removal of the locomotive must be completed within the specified pick-up dates/ times. Dismantling, cutting, or crushing will be allowed on Railroad property by prior arrangement.
