Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: Can you add pictures of the track? Does the track break down into certain lengths? Finally, what is the approximate weight of the train and cars? Thanks (10/2/18 12:19 PM)
A: Does the track break down into certain lengths- Yes, rails are between 17 and 30 feet long. Approximate weight of train and cars- Unknown. We will add pictures of the track to the listing. Thank you. (10/2/18 12:48 PM)

Q: The sections of the tracks are bolted together by side plates. Does it look like the bolts are rusted such that the square nuts cannot be unscrewed and will have to be removed by an alternative means? Thanks. (10/2/18 8:34 PM)
A: Bolts that hold sections of rail together- Seems like most of the bolts are damaged and will need a cutting torch to remove them. (10/3/18 3:30 PM)

Q: Do the tracks have to be removed in one day? (10/3/18 10:40 PM)
A: No (10/5/18 5:43 PM)

Q: How long would a successful buyer realistically have to remove this item? I would love to bid on it, but it would be December before I would have any free time to disassemble and remove. Thank you in advance! (10/8/18 3:04 PM)
A: We would need them removed sooner than December. (10/11/18 9:15 AM)

Q: With the threat of even more flooding, will the train (engine & coaches) now be put in the storage building? I noticed it had been moved to the other side of the track, but not "in storage" as stated in the information posted 10/5/18 on GovDeals Auction site. (10/12/18 9:56 AM)
A: The train engine and passenger cars were loaded onto trailers on 10/8 and are now at the Napoleon Shop. (10/12/18 11:17 AM)

Q: Due to the flooding, the ties will be very heavy & hard to move with the amount of rain & standing water they have been in. Are the terms still 10 days for removal? (10/12/18 10:07 AM)
A: We can be flexible within reason. However, once the tracks and ties are purchased they will be the buyers property. If any are stolen or damaged while awaiting removal, the city of Iowa city will not be held responsible. (10/12/18 10:17 AM)
