The item up for auction is an 8 cylinder, 850HP, 1956 EMD diesel yard engine. The engine is considered by the owner to be in good condition after receiving a complete and professional overhaul from Silcott Railway Equipment, LTD. The overhaul includes, but is not limited to, sleeves, pistons, trucks (wheels) and generator approximately ten years ago at a cost of $150,000 (records available upon request). The engine comes with two remote operators. The engine has been used at a municipal power plant for moving coal cars. Owner’s manual will be provided with sale. If interested, a site observation and start-up can be arranged.

We will have someone start the locomotive at Eckert (601 Island Ave) Lansing Mi. 48910 at 10:00am Thursday, November 4th.

Seller added the following information on 11/2/2021 1:30 PM:
- The engine can be controlled via remote control and from the cab. - BWL believes the engine to be original manufacturer’s engine, however, rebuilt. - The engine does have 50/50 radiator fluid for cooling. It also heats the fluid via recirculating pump. - BWL mandates that all visitors to the site have the proper personal protective equipment including reflective safety vest, sturdy leather boots, hard hat eye, and ear protection. BWL does have a few extra hard hats, if needed.

Property may be removed by appointment only and appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate.

The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer’s Certificate.
