Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: Did Northwest College purchase this bus new? if not, when did the College buy it and who from? The bus history will help on buying a decision. 2nd question. is the mileage shown 443,184 the total coach miles, or only what the odometer shows? Thank you for your answers. (12/9/20 9:37 PM)
A: We did not purchase this bus new. We purchased it in August 2012 from Northwest Bus Sale in Federal Way Washington. I traced it back to GSA in Virginia which means the government had it on some military base. This bus came configured as a 47 passenger and I put extra bus seats to accommodate our sports teams. Mileage is total coach miles. When I purchased it it had 312,000 miles. Hubometer and ECM support the odometer. (12/10/20 8:20 AM)
Q: When was the last engine rebuild? (12/14/20 2:44 PM)
A: Sorry I answered this wrong thinking it was a different vehicle. This bus has not had a engine rebuild that I know of. The engine has had no issues with only the water pump, alternator, air compressor, starter and fuel pump being replaced. (12/15/20 8:30 AM)
Q: Do you think the bus can be driven to Miami from there? Thank you. (12/21/20 1:55 PM)
A: Without a doubt and when it arrived there it could right into service. (12/21/20 2:59 PM)
Q: Does it have a wheelchair lift? (12/23/20 10:56 AM)
A: No lift. (12/23/20 12:51 PM)
Q: The description of the bus indicates that it is a MCI 1999, however, the picture with the VIN shows it it was manufactured in 1998. Could you please verify? (1/3/21 4:05 PM)
A: Title has it listed as 1999. No different when you buy a 2021 car made in June of 2020.and you make the purchase in October for example. (1/3/21 5:23 PM)
Q: 1. Is there any rust in storage bay areas. 2. Are the storage bays open from one door to the other. 3. On the Driver side 3rd Bay with louvers what in that bay. (1/5/21 6:37 AM)
A: 1. No rust. 2. The bay doors are opened individually with a lift up center lockable latch. 3. Third bay with louvers is not a storage bay, this is where the condensing coil, heat coil and evaporator coil are located. (1/5/21 6:44 AM)
Q: What is the overall length of this bus? (1/5/21 10:39 AM)
A: 45 foot. (1/5/21 11:14 AM)
Q: Could you tell me the road speed of this bus Thank you (1/25/21 8:54 PM)
A: Bus has no problem cruising 70-75 mph however our drivers were limited to 65 max verified through gps. The Detroit engine ha awesome power. (1/26/21 9:14 AM)
Q: 1. Have any of the windows lost their seal and become clouded between the glass panes. 2. Does the bus have a Jake brake? (1/26/21 10:30 PM)
A: No window leaks and yes to the jake brake. Jake brake is functional and has two settings, low and high. (1/27/21 8:19 AM)
Q: 1. Was any of the paint damaged when the decals were removed? 2. Is the toilet a recirculating toilet, or does it use fresh water to flush? (1/28/21 10:10 AM)
A: Little bit of ghosting on the decals. Toilet is tank type with chemical, like porta potty. Has auxiliary tanks as well. We never used the restroom. (1/28/21 10:56 AM)
