Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: When is the last time this aircraft flew? Also could the trained students put this back together so it legally fly for the buyer? (12/2/20 2:04 PM)
A: The present owner does not have airframe logs for flight time or maintenance logs. This aircraft was used in a non-flying condition for at least 15 years as a static example for aviation maintenance training. There is no FAA airworthiness certificate. The present owner is incapable of determining how much work is required to bring this aircraft up to flyable status. The present location does not support the work necessary to bring this aircraft up to flight conditions. If a prospective buyer desires an in-person inspection, please arrange by contacting: Barry Witte Assistant Director Office of Workforce Development Hudson Valley Community College Phone: (518) 629-4233 email: b.witte@hvcc.edu (12/2/20 2:51 PM)
Q: Looks like one section of one engine can be seen. Both engines included? Did students work on these? (12/9/20 5:33 PM)
A: Yes, both engines are installed. Yes, students did remove and reinstall both engines multiple times (12/10/20 9:03 AM)
Q: To the person asking about it being put back into flying condition by students; I am an A&P/IA and former instructor at another school. School aircraft have been taken apart and put back together so many times the bolt holes are worn out. Even the best trained students are not qualified to put an aircraft like this back in flying condition. Many overhauled parts will be needed and may not be available. The amount of money it would take to put this aircraft in flying condition would be astronomical. I knew someone who owned one and he said it cost $600 just to fly it around the pattern. I have no interest in owning it, just trying to help. (12/19/20 10:50 AM)
A: Thank you! (12/23/20 1:54 PM)
Q: would anyone be available to give assistance on how to remove wings ? (12/21/20 1:59 PM)
A: We can negotiate assisting the winning bidder in removing the wings. (12/23/20 1:54 PM)
