This unit is a single surface 30" Planer that has no known deficiencies when taken out of service. Item is located at our St. Paul Campus. Exact address will be provided to winning bidder.

Planer has a straight shot to a commercial height loading dock. Dock height is 38.5 inches to 41.5 inches high. Loading dock area is about 60 wide so height varies slightly along the 50 foot run.

Planer weighs approximately 8,000 lbs.

Because of the weight of this item, loading must be done by University laborers or a UMN approved rigging crew at the expense of the purchaser. University labor will depend on exact dock height of the truck. If the truck matches the dock heights listed above, the cost will be $150, if the truck does not match the dock height the cost will be $300+ depending on what equipment is needed to load. Murphy Rigging is an approved UMN rigging vendor. Buyer would need to contact them for a quote if they prefer to use them over university labor. http://www.murphyrigging.com/

Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: Hows the blade? How much is a replacement blade and do you have any that comes with the machine? Are bearing all good? Any issues getting a smooth result? (4/5/19 6:08 PM)
A: The blades are fine. It also has a second set, newly sharpened. The table feeder slips sometimes, but it might just need a good cleaning of the roller surface. The bearings seem fine, no loud grinding or wobbles. The planer has a tendency to bite the lumber hard at the beginning of the cut , but it planes quite nice. I was told by the laborers that put it on the dollies that it weighed about 7500 pounds and it was last used about 8 months ago. (4/9/19 3:04 PM)
