Auto-bid

As a bidder, you don't have to constantly watch auctions and worry about being outbid! All GovDeals Internet Auctions feature an auto-bid. In the bid box on the auction view page, enter the HIGHEST dollar amount that you are willing to pay, and the GovDeals bidding system will bid on your behalf by placing a bid at the current LOWEST minimum bid. If another bidder outbids your LOWEST minimum bid, the system will automatically place another bid, once again making you the current high bidder, until your "top dollar" number is reached. The auto-bidding system will continue to place the LOWEST minimum bids on your behalf until you are the winner of the auction or another bidder bids higher than your auto-bid. Auto-bids are completely private and are never displayed to other bidders. In the event of a reserve price auction, your auto-bid will immediately bid up to the amount of the reserve OR to the max amount of your auto-bid if the reserve price is in excess of your auto-bid.

Bid Extension

If a bid is placed during the final 3 minutes of an auction, the auction's current end time will automatically extend for additional 3 minutes. This will continue until no bids are placed during the last three minutes.

Since most bidding occurs during the final minutes of an auction, this allows all bidders a sufficient amount of time to continue bidding.

Probation Level 1 Bidding

This Seller has instituted a Bidder Probation Restriction on this auction. 43.7 Acre, more or less, property at 204 Bluefield Road, Mooresville, NC. This is a beautiful property with elevation changes and is mostly wooded with pine and hardwoods. Property was used as an outdoor educational facility with confidence course - remnants of the course elements still remain including zip lines and a 50' Rock Climbing/Repelling Tower with 65' poles used in construction, all of which were inspected and deemed unsafe for continued use, decommissioned and access removed.

Property includes bathroom facility with men's and women's restrooms with two toilets on each side and shower heads (on a septic tank), 6 Adirondack Camping structures with an adjoining covered meeting area and storage building, several standalone storage buildings and a 30'x45' covered meeting area with a full cement pad.

Water is provided by an onsite well and sewage is by septic system. City water and sewer lines have been ran in local vicinity to serve neighboring residential areas and may be available for this property. Natural gas and cable are present in the vicinity as well. Electricity is provided by local utility providers and all power lines that service the property were ran underground.

Gravel roads are still traversable but will require maintenance in some areas. A power line owned by a local utility company crosses the property but does not service the property. The property was decommissioned from it's previous use, closed, and has not been used in 2 years. Grounds have been lightly maintained to control overgrowth.

This property Zoned RA (Residendial/Agriculture) and is surrounded by newer Residential Tracts. Has its own private drive with direct road access and a key coded gate. There are some restrictions on the waterways.

Property could be used as residential tract(s), residential park, or the camping elements and buildings repurposed for other outdoor recreation use. All existing structures would require inspection and repair before they could be used.

County invested over $600k in the infrastructure on this property which included laying gravel roads and building the mentioned structures.

A: The property is owned by Iredell County Government and operated by Iredell County's Parks and Recreation Dept as an outdoor education center and ropes course. There are no liens on the property, improvements were paid for by the County. The Parcel ID # is 4648-65-4543.000. (9/16/20 8:45 AM)
Q: is this area subject to flooding? is it consider a flood zone or plane? has it flooded in past? why is county selling if they invested 600k in it? (9/18/20 11:20 PM)
A: There is no record of the property having flooded in the past. At its lowest point there are two ankle-deep creeks that dry to almost a trickle in summer. These occasionally overflow their shallow banks during extreme rain but recede quickly and have not caused damage to the access road under which they run in two areas or to any structure on the property. Investments made were for the purpose of installing, accessing and operating the outdoor education center and confidence course. That program was relocated to a new site, that purpose no longer exists, and the County no longer needs the property. (9/22/20 10:32 AM)

Special InstructionsSpecial Instructions
1) At close of the auction, the high bidder shall post a bid deposit of no less than five percent (5%) of their bid. The high bid shall be reported to the Board of Commissioners at a regularly scheduled meeting and the Board shall accept or reject the bid within 30 days thereafter. If the bid is rejected, the high bidder will be notified and its full bid deposit will be returned. If the bid is accepted, award shall be made and the sale shall be authorized for close. 2) Beginning on the day following the Board's acceptance of the bid, the buyer shall have two hundred-seventy (270) calendar days in which to close the sale of the Property, the first one hundred eighty (180) days of which shall be considered a due diligence period. The buyer shall complete all inspections of the Property, at buyers sole expense, during the due diligence period. Should the buyer withdraw prior to the expiration of the due diligence period, the bid deposit shall be returned, less a fee of one percent of the total bid amount that shall be retained by the County. The buyer's full bid deposit shall not be refundable after the expiration of the due diligence period, but rather shall be forfeited and retained by the County. 3) The Property shall be sold as-is in its current condition and the County gives no warranty with respect to usability of the property. The Property shall be conveyed by special warranty deed. 4) No sale may be completed until the Board has approved and accepted the high bid. 5) Iredell County reserves the right to withdraw the Property from sale at any time and to accept or reject any or all bids.
