THE VEHICLE SALES TAX WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR STATE OF RESIDENT (SOUTH CAROLINA TAX RATE IS 5% WITH A CAP OF $300.00).

Inspection: Most items offered for sale are used and may contain defects not immediately detectable. Bidders may inspect the property prior to bidding. Bidders must adhere to the inspection dates and times indicated in the item description. Inspections are Monday thru Friday from 9am til 3pm excluding holidays or office closings. No appointment needed for inspection.

Payment in full is due not later than 5 business days from the time and date of the Buyer’s Certificate. Payment not received in 5 business days will result in default, and the asset will be relisted. The bidder will not be allowed to participate in future auctions. Acceptable forms of payment are: U. S. Currency, Certified Cashiers Check, Money Order, Mastercard/Visa, or a South Carolina (in state) Check (with Bank Letter guaranteeing funds – mandatory) Checks shall be made payable to: The State of South Carolina. All payments are processed at the Surplus Property Office, 1441 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170. If you are paying by credit card and your item is being shipped or located offsite, you will need to call our office to have your credit card processed (803-896-6880).

Removal: All items must be removed within 10 business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate. The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. Property may be removed between the hours of 8:30a.m. - 11:30a.m. and 1:30p.m. - 3:30p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays. Waiver of all liability from the State of South Carolina for loading and property removal. The winning bidder will be liable for any damage or harm that may take place during the loading and removal of property awarded to that bidder. In addition, the winning bidder shall indemnify, defend and save harmless the State of South Carolina, The State Budget and Control Board, the Owning Agency and their representatives from any liability arising out of the winning bidder’s acts or omissions including the failure to secure adequate insurance coverage.

Shipping: The winning bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements. No shipping by the Surplus Property Office.
