You will be bidding on a 2006 Carolina Modular Portable Classroom Modular Unit (24' X 60'). There are no axles or wheels with this unit. The unit has one interior wall and there are two 24' x 30' rooms. Also, the unit includes two wall mount HVAC units (working condition), underpinning, concrete block columns, meter base, porch, steps and handicap ramp. This unit is located at the SC Governor's School For Science and Math in Hartsville, South Carolina. The unit was being used by the agency. The unit is being sold "as is" and the BUYER is responsible for disassembling the modular unit plus the removal of the unit. The BUYER is responsible for removing and capping any sewer and gas lines. The power will be disconnected from the building by the seller. The BUYER is is also responsible for disposing of all debris related to the removal of this building from the site. The debris removal is to be done in accordance to all state and federal DHEC and Darlington County regulations. The overall condition of this property is unknown to the Surplus Property Office.

THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER(S) AGREES THAT ITS MOBILE HOME/MODULAR UNIT TRANSPORTER WILL BE BONDED, LICENSED AND INSURED FOR MOVING AND SETTING UP A MOBILE HOME/MODULAR UNIT IN THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACT PROVIDER SHALL INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND SAVE HARMLESS THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, SC GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL FOR SCIENCE & MATH AND DARLINGTON COUNTY FROM ANY LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THE CONTRACTOR’S ACTS OR OMISSIONS. PROOF OF THE REQUIRED INSURANCE MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA SURPLUS PROPERTY OFFICE FROM THE WINNING BIDDER PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL OF ANY PURCHASED PROPERTY.

Payment in full is due not later than 5 business days from the time and date of the Buyer’s Certificate. Payment not received in 5 business days will result in default, and the asset will be relisted. The bidder will not be allowed to participate in future auctions. Acceptable forms of payment are: U. S. Currency, Certified Cashiers Check, Money Order, Mastercard/Visa, or a South Carolina (in state) Check (with Bank Letter guaranteeing funds – mandatory) Checks shall be made payable to: The State of South Carolina. All payments are processed at the Surplus Property Office, 1441 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170. If you are paying by credit card and your item is being shipped or located offsite, you will need to call our office to have your credit card processed (803-896-6880).

The unit will have to be removed by October 22, 2012. A daily storage fee of $50.00 may be charged if not removed by October 22, 2012. The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property.
