Payment

Payment in full is due not later than 5 business days from the time and date of the Buyer’s Certificate. Payment shall be in the form of: o U.S. Currency o Cashier’s Check o Certified Check o Money Order o Traveler’s Checks o Approved Credit Cards (Visa and MasterCard only) – City charges 1.55% credit card fee plus $0.24 credit card processing fee on all credit card payments. Checks shall be made payable to: City of Mountain Brook. Payments shall be made at the City Clerk’s Office - City Hall – 3928 Montclair Road– PO Box 130009 Mountain Brook, Alabama 35213. Bidder forfeits sale of merchandise if payment is not received at the close of 5 (five) business days from the date of the bid closing.

Removal

All items must be removed within 10 business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate. Purchases will be released only upon receipt of payment as specified. Successful bidders are responsible for loading and removal and any and all property awarded to them from the place where the property is located as indicated on the website and in the Buyer’s Certificate. The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property. Under no circumstances will City of Mountain Brook assume responsibility for packing, loading or shipping. Property may be removed between the hours of 7:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. ,Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. A: The only information we have on the motor on this bike is that it has an 883CC engine. We have no way to convert that to "inch" size. (6/22/12 9:22 AM)

A: There is nothing wrong with this bike. Winning bidder never paid for bike, never came by to look at bike, nor responded to any calls or emails. Never gave a reason as to why he decided not to get it. (7/18/12 2:55 PM)

Q: The bike looks terrific, extremely well maintained, I assume it would crank and run. If I bus up from Montgomery, I assume I could easily drive back if I win, correct? Knowing we buy "as is" and content with that in mind, couldn't you say generally there is nothing obvious that should prevent our interest in the bike. I assume we (everyone looking at this bike and the ones in Rome Ga) would like to inspect and even crank, listen or even drive an investment like this but any positive or negative information would be well received and possibly get Mt. Brook a few more dollars. Thanks for your patience with our sincere effort to get a fairly accurate image of the condition of this fine machine. (7/24/12 8:34 PM)

Q: One more please, because of the beginning price and the two other similar bikes in the same price range only two days apart on govdeals, would we be correct in accessing that the sale by the city is for asset rotation or replacement for some percieved use or depreciation cycle and not becase the motor is frozen up. Any general information is appreciated by any interested bike bidder. Tell us all you can, we want to buy it. (7/24/12 8:41 PM)
A: your accessments of the reasons for the sale of this bike are correct. The motor is not frozen. This bike was on our streets servicing our PD just a few weeks ago and working fine. (7/24/12 9:57 PM)
