Inspection

Inspections are encouraged. While we understand that it is not always feasible, especially for out of state bidders, all bidders should be aware that vehicles may not be capable of being started, even with a jump, or driven and they should be prepared to tow or haul the vehicles they purchased from the Metro lot if necessary. No repair work of any kind may be done on Metro property. We will make every effort to provide as much information as we can on the conditions of the vehicles we sell however some information may not be available in some cases. If you have a special concern you may contact the person whose name appears in the body of the vehicle description.

Payment

ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MAILED IN ADVANCE TO LOUISVILLE METRO GOVERNMENT, ATTN: TRACE McGAREY, 611 W. JEFFERSON STREET, LOUISVILLE, KY 40202. UPON RECEIVING YOUR PAYMENT YOU WILL BE EMAILED A RECEIPT ALONG WITH THE CONTACT IFORMATION FOR THE INDIVIDUAL YOU'LL NEED TO CONTACT TO SCHEDULE YOUR PICK UP. Removal

Once you've received verification from Louisville Metro that your payment has been received you must contact RANDY BOWMAN at 502-574-3741 to schedule your pick up. Hours for pick up are determined by Louisville Fire Department and APPOINTMENTS MUST BE MADE! The contact name and phone number of the individual you need to speak with will be provided to you with your email sales receipt when you receive it. BIDDERS SHOWING UP UNANNOUNCED TO PICK UP A VEHICLE RUN THE RISK OF NOT BEING ABLE TO RETRIEVE YOUR PROPERTY THAT DAY. THIS APPLIES TO LOCAL SALES AS WELL AS SALES FROM OUT OF TOWN BIDDERS. shipping, loading, etc. are the responsibility of the bidder. No assistance is available and the bidder must arrive prepared. Bidders must tell Fleet Services if a transport company is being used to pick up their vehicle and supply them with the name of the transport company. IF THE TRANSPORT COMPANY FAILS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FLEET SERVICES FOR THE PICK UP YOUR VEHICLE WILL NOT BE RELEASED TO THEM, so the bidder must make sure the transport company knows this. Bidders must make sure the transport company also knows the following: (1) THAT THE VEHICLE MAY NOT BE OPERABLE, (2) IF THE VEHICLE HAS NO KEY, (3) WHO THEY ARE PICKING THE VEHICLE UP FOR & (4) THE LAST SIX DIGITS OF THE VIN SO THEY ARE ASSURED OF PICKING UP THE RIGHT VEHICLE.

The grand total of your vehicle purchase does not include any applicable sales tax. Sales tax is only assessed to bidders in eight states: ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, FLORIDA, INDIANA, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, SOUTH CAROLINA, WASHINGTON. Bidders in these states will not see the sales tax on the Buyers Certificate they receive from GovDeals---the day after they receive their Buyers Certificate they will receive a separate email from the Louisville Metro Surplus Property Office, giving them their correct grand total, which includes the sales tax. Bidders who provide the Louisville Metro Surplus Property Office with a copy of a tax exempt certificate at the time of their payment will not be required to pay the sales tax.
