This auction is for the following water treatment centrifuge:

One (1) Alfa Laval Sharples Decanter Centrifuge Model PM35000, serial number is 91-PM35000-162, and was used in the Alum Recovery process which was discontinued in 2005. Centrifuge has not been used since then, but is still operational. The successful bidder will be buying the centrifuge as is with no warranty or guarantee.

The centrifuge’s face plate data is as follows:

Manufacturer: Alfa Laval Sharples, Model: PM35000/91-PM35000-162, Serial #: A91/115270-01, Max RPM: 3250, Specific Gravity of Cake or Heavy Phase: 1.7, Machine Weight: 2950 lbs.

Scroll conveyor is 5 inch pitch with directional feed nozzles and dovetail (bonded) sintered tungsten carbide tiles for wear protection.

Gearbox is a P24/ 125.

The centrifuge has a main drive 40 HP AC main motor and a 10 HP DC back drive motor.

The successful bidder will be required to give four business days notice to City staff to arrange for pickup of the centrifuge and motor. Once payment has been made, directions will be given regarding removal. All items must be removed within 10 business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate. Removal must be performed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Purchases will be released only upon receipt of payment as specified. Successful bidders are responsible for loading and removal and any and all property awarded to them from the place where the property is located as indicated on the website and in the Buyer’s Certificate. A daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 10 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer’s Certificate.

A: We will be lowering the centrifuge from the second floor to the first floor. A flatbed truck of reasonable size can be positioned underneath the hatch through which the centrifuge will be lowered. (4/27/12 10:24 AM)

A: The volume is between 50- 60 GPM. Yes, the unit can be operated outside, however you would want to protect the control panel from the elements. (5/4/12 12:05 PM)
