You will be bidding on 1 Lot of Used Baseball Field Equipment (detailed list attached). There are over 15 items including scoreboard, dugout benches, portable batting cage and other items (see attached list). The winning bidder will be responsible for the disassembling of this equipment. This property is located at the Sarge Frye Baseball Field and is located at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. The overall condition of this property is not known by the Surplus Property Office.
*This property is for pickup only at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. The winning bidder is responsible for disassembling and the loading and removal of this property. All property must be removed by the close of business on December 31, 2009. Property left after the close of business on December 31, 2009 will revert ownership back to the University of South Carolina.*

THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER(S) AGREES THAT ITS AGENTS, CONTRACTORS OR REPRESENTATIVES SELECTED TO REMOVE THE PURCHASED PROPERTY WILL MAINTAIN, THROUGHOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF ITS OBLIGATION TO REMOVE THE PURCHASED PROPERTY, A POLICY OR POLICIES OF WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE WITH SUCH LIMITS AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY LAW AND A POLICY OR POLICIES OF GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE INSURING AGAINST LIABILITY FOR INJURY TO, OR DEATH OF, PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO, OR DESTRUCTION OF, PROPERTY ARISING OUT OF OR BASED UPON ANY ACT OR OMISSION OF THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER(S) OR ANY OF ITS SUBCONTRACTOR(S) OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS. SUCH GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE SHALL HAVE LIMITS OF NO LESS THAN $1,000,000 PER OCCURRENCE. THE REQUIREMENT OF WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE SHALL NOT BE CIRCUMVENTED BY USE OF A STAFF LEASING SERVICES COMPANY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACT PROVIDER SHALL INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND SAVE HARMLESS THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD AND THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA FROM ANY LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THE CONTRACTOR’S ACTS OR OMISSIONS INCLUDING THE FAILURE TO SECURE ADEQUATE INSURANCE COVERAGE AS PRESCRIBED HEREIN. ALL COVERAGE’S SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT DURING THE ENTIRE TERM OF THE CONTRACT. AT ALL TIMES DURING THE TERM OF THIS CONTRACT, THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER(S) SHALL MAINTAIN EMPLOYEE PRACTICES LIABILITY INSURANCE WITH MINIMUM COVERAGE OF $1,000,000.00 PER CLAIM AND $1,000,000.00 AGGREGATE. PROOF OF THE REQUIRED INSURANCE MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA SURPLUS PROPERTY OFFICE FROM THE WINNING BIDDER PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL OF ANY PURCHASED PROPERTY.

Payment in full is due not later than 5 business days from the time and date of the Buyer’s Certificate. Acceptable forms of payment are: U. S. Currency, Certified Cashiers Check, Money Order, or a South Carolina (in state) Check (with Bank Letter guaranteeing funds – mandatory) Checks shall be made payable to: The State of South Carolina. All payments are processed at the Surplus Property Office, 1441 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170.
All of this property must be removed by the close of business on December 31, 2009. Property left after the close of business on December 31, 2009 will revert ownership back to the University of South Carolina. The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property.
