You will be bidding on a Hitachi Electron Microscope and Accessories Lot (detailed info below). The agency is reporting the basic scope worked when last operated about two years ago. The x-ray detector computer is broken but that is an add-on accessory feature that does not affect operation as an electron microscope. Also, the forepumps and air compressor are missing. These two items will need to be replaced before someone attempts to use it. This is an old electron microscope but is good for basic microscopy. The electron microscope has been disassembled and palletized by the Medical University of South Carolina. The items listed in the detailed lot info below is what you are bidding on; not all the items in the pictures. This equipment was used by the Medical University of South Carolina and is located in North Charleston, South Carolina. The overall condition of this property is unknown to the Surplus Property Office.

Inspection: Most items offered for sale are used and may contain
defects not immediately detectable. Bidders may inspect the property
prior to bidding. Bidders must adhere to the inspection dates and times

Payment in full is due not later than 5 business days from the time and
date of the Buyer’s Certificate. Acceptable forms of payment are: U. S.
Currency, Certified Cashiers Check, Money Order, Mastercard/Visa, or a
South Carolina (in state) Check (with Bank Letter guaranteeing funds –
mandatory) Checks shall be made payable to: The State of South
Carolina. All payments are processed at the Surplus Property Office,
1441 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170. If you are
paying by credit card and your item is being shipped or located
offsite, you will need to call our office to have your credit card
processed (803-896-6880).
Removal: All items must be removed within 10 business days from the
time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate. The Buyer will
make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including
packing, loading and transportation of the property. Property may be
removed between the hours of 9:00a.m. and 3:00p.m., Monday through
Friday, excluding legal holidays. For additional information, please

daily storage fee of $10.00 may be charged for any item not removed

reject any and all bids and to withdraw from sale any of the items
